The 'Original Animation Color Edition' Vegeta figure was released exclusively for and during the 2014 SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con). It is essentially a re-release of the 2013 Vegeta figure, but with a repaint using the incorrect colors Toei gave Vegeta in his first appearance in the DBZ anime. Aside from that, they are exactly the same.
The 2014 San Diego Comic-Con exclusively brought us this Vegeta figure, dubbed the 'Original Animation Color Edition,' which references Vegeta's first appearance in the Dragon Ball Z anime. Due to an error by the animation company Toei, Vegeta was colored with red hair, and his combat suit had strange brown, green, and yellow colors. These are the exact colors used for this Vegeta figure.
As we mentioned, this figure is a re-release of the 2013 version, meaning it has the same sculpt and accessories. The only differences are the coloring and the box.
That same year, and at the same event, the Vegeta 'Planet Arlia' figure gained popularity, with even Funko POP! releasing a figure featuring the same version of the Saiyan Prince.
Is this figure worth it? Our opinion is no, unless you're a completest or you really like this Toei error, which, if you watch DBZ Kai, is no longer present.
Additionally, we’ve linked a video from the Coleccionando Figuras YouTube channel, where they give an in-depth look at this collectible piece.
