The exclusive S.H. Figuarts for Dragon Ball Z at SDCC 2012 was SSJ Gohan "Special Color Edition". It was essentially a re-release of the 2010 figure, featuring the same sculpt and accessories, but this time with the anime colors of DBZ.
This figure was highly praised, as the release of Perfect Cell was approaching, and both were designed to be posed together.
This Gohan figure is the second event-exclusive release by Tamashii Nations for Dragon Ball and the eighth in the entire collection.
As its name suggests, it is a "Special Color Edition" of the original 2010 version. This means it features anime-accurate colors, with a darker outfit, a blue belt, and more intense shading.
Regarding accessories, they are exactly the same as the original version: two interchangeable Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 hairstyles, allowing for more dynamic poses.
At the time, this figure was highly sought after, both for its anime color scheme and its release close to Perfect Cell, making them a perfect match for posing together.
Today, both this version and the original have become outdated, as we now have a Super Saiyan Gohan with a 3.0 body and a fabric cape, as well as a Super Saiyan 2 Gohan with a 2.0 body and battle damage—both far superior options.
