The S.H. Figuarts of Son Goku, released exclusively for the 'Tamashii Nations Gallery' in Mexico in 2015, was dubbed by collectors as "Mexican Goku." It is essentially an exclusive re-release of the figure launched in 2014, but with some modifications: the colors were adjusted, a new face was included, and Goku's kanji was added to the chest and back of his outfit.
This 'Mexican Goku' figure was available during the 'Tamashii Nations Gallery' event in Mexico in 2015, which is where the nickname comes from. It is a re-release of the one launched in 2014, but with some additional details that set it apart.
As for its accessories, this exclusive edition includes a new angry face, a welcome addition for many.
Regarding the paint job, this edition features slightly more intense colors, and the most notable feature is the inclusion of the 'Son Goku' kanji on both the chest and back. This is because, while the 2014 figure represented the Cell saga, where Goku didn't wear kanjis on his outfit, this one represents the Namek saga, where we see him wearing the kanji of his name on his chest and back. As for the sculpt, although a minor detail, it features the belt with the knot hanging, not fixed. These three small details add points to the figure.
It's worth mentioning that this figure isn't as 'exclusive' as it may seem, as that same year, 2015, for SDCC, they released the same figure with the same changes, but with a different box. In fact, it’s this last point that has made the price of this Goku with a 1.0 body absurdly high, when honestly, by 2025, there are much better and cheaper options.
One final detail: this figure is numbered as number 16 in the entire collection, which is because in the Figupedia released alongside the Toyotaro Ultra Instinct Goku, this Mexican Goku is listed as being released in June 2014, which we believe is an error, but...
If you'd like to see an unboxing review of the figure, we’ve linked a YouTube video from the Japan Figures Mexico channel, which showcases it wonderfully.
