The S.H. Figuarts Son Goku 'Frieza Saga Ver.' was released exclusively for the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). It is a re-release of the 2014 Goku, maintaining the same mold and accessories, but with some notable differences. Among these, it features a more intense color, a belt with a knot, an exclusive face, and the kanji on his chest, all to represent Kakarot during his time on Namek.
The S.H. Figuarts Son Goku 'Frieza Saga Ver.' exclusive to the SDCC 2015 is the 26th release in the Dragon Ball figure collection.
In essence, this figure is a re-release of the 2014 Goku, using the same mold, faces, and accessories. However, to represent the Namek arc, several modifications were made, such as the belt with a knot, the kanji on the chest and back (which were not present in the 2014 version), and an exclusive face that wasn't included in the previous figure. It also stands out that the colors in this edition are darker, giving it a different appearance.
This exclusive figure has a 'sister' version, released at the Tamashii Nations Gallery in Mexico in 2015, and the only difference between the two is the design of their boxes. The Mexican edition is popularly known as the 'Goku mexicano'.
At Listacompletade.com, we do not recommend this figure unless you're a completist, as today the 'Goku raised on Earth' from 2018 with a 2.0 body and much higher detail exists.
If you want to see an unboxing and review of the figure, we’ve left a video from the Coleccionando Figuras channel on YouTube, where all the details are thoroughly shown.
Here you will see some of the more than 200 S.H. Figuarts releases that Tamashii Nations has brought us from Dragon Ball.
