This 2018 S.H. Figuarts of Krillin is based on the classic Dragon Ball era, depicting the character in his childhood version. For this figure, the Kid Goku body was reused, but it features an impressive sculpt for Krillin’s faces. It also includes one of the best Kamehameha effects the brand has released to date.
This articulated figure, 'Krillin (Kid)', was released in 2018 as a regular edition and is the 61st release in the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection.
This is the second figure that Tamashii Nations has launched of Goku's best friend. The first one, released in 2013, was based on Krillin's appearance during the Cell Saga of DBZ. However, this time they bring us one of the earliest versions of the character, taking us back to the first World Martial Arts Tournament from classic Dragon Ball, where Goku and Krillin participated, which is why he’s seen wearing the Turtle School uniform.
Regarding its design, the body reuses the same structure as the Kid Goku figure released earlier that year, but the face sculpts are entirely new, created specifically for Krillin.
Among its accessories, the highlight is the Kamehameha effect, considered one of the best the brand has ever produced. It also includes the stone with the Turtle School kanji, which Goku and Krillin had to search for during their first day of training, although this accessory doesn’t exactly correspond to the moment represented by this figure.
The downside, as with other child figures released at that time, is the scale, which wasn’t entirely accurate.
At listacompletade.com, we only recommend this figure to completists, because although (as of 2025) there is still no other Kid Krillin in the line, we remain hopeful that after the success of the "mini" Dragon Ball Daima figures, Tamashii will revisit classic Dragon Ball and offer us new versions of Kid Goku and Kid Krillin.
