The first Krillin figure released for the Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts collection debuted in 2013 as an exclusive release. Additionally, it introduced an innovative articulation system that was getting closer to the 2.0 design. As for its accessories, it included the Kien-Zan with a somewhat peculiar system, and its colors and designs were based on those from the manga and the Android and Cell sagas.
This is the first Krillin figure in the entire S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball collection, and it’s number 13 in total. It was released in 2013 as an exclusive, known today as 'Tamashii Web Exclusive,' and was based on the Androids and Cell saga.
Its colors followed those used by Akira Toriyama when coloring some manga pages, which is why his outfit is more red and less orange, and his eyes are white instead of skin-colored, as seen in the anime.
Along with Trunks and Cell from 2012, and the Frieza from 2013, this figure was already moving away from the 1.0 articulation system and closer to the 2.0, but it still has a 1.5 body. If we look at the hip/groin articulation, it still retains the 1.0 system, but everything else already resembles a 2.0.
Regarding accessories, it came loaded with interchangeable hands and the Ki attack effect, the Kienzan, which is so characteristic of this bald hero.
In 2022, Tamashii released a new figure of the same version of the character, but with anime colors and a 3.0 body. This has made this figure less desirable, except for completionist collectors. However, both figures come with different faces, but they are not compatible.
Another specific detail is that in 2014, with the release of the Android No. 18 figure, an extra face for this figure and a hand with the androids' power-off switch came along.
Lastly, one thing we’ll mention is that the Japanese misspelled the character’s westernized name, so on the box, you can read "Klilyn," because that's how they pronounce it as "ku-li-lin."
