The S.H. Figuarts of Broly from 2014 was the first figure Tamashii Nations released of this character from the Dragon Ball Z movies. It is also the first 'large' figure in the collection, standing at around 22 cm tall, which puts Goku's 14 cm figure into better scale. It didn’t include many accessories, but it did innovate with articulation and a sculpt worthy of this character.
With this 2014 Broly release, Tamashii Nations did an incredible job. Its articulation system is almost 2.0. This figure only retains the 1.0 hip joint, offering mobility and aesthetic results not previously seen in a Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts figure.
The figure came a bit short on accessories, but those it includes are sufficient: just 3 faces and three pairs of hands, but for posing the character in any battle pose, it’s more than enough.
This figure was released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, which was supposed to have no re-stock, but with the character’s success, the company used event-exclusive editions to repeat and re-release it two more times, once in 2016 and again in 2018. But as if that wasn’t enough, in 2025, it was re-released again as a 40th Anniversary Dragon Ball exclusive edition, and this time with no recolors, meaning this figure has been re-released 3 times in total, though only the latest 40th edition retains the original colors.
What stands out the most about this figure was and still is its size, about 22 cm tall, compared to the average of about 15 cm for the others, making it quite imposing.
We only recommend it if you're a fan of this version of the character, as it is still a 2014 figure with a 1.5 body, which deserves an update more than a re-release.
If you want to see the figure in detail, we’ve prepared a video from the YouTube channel, Coleccionando Figuras, which shows it in all its glory.
